5 things from the film “Bowling for Columbine”, that you find interesting

Here is some things I find interesting:

If you open an account in a bank you can get a rifle.

I think it's such a stupid thing to do, just to get some customers in the bank. The people should know better, and think about what they're doing.

In a year, over 11.000 people gets killed in USA, while other countries have a down to 39 people.

I think it's scary and choking to know how big the difference is between countries. It also shows how violent and maybe dangerous the USA is, and that they don't have that many laws about gun-using.

A new record: 6 years old boy kills 6 year old girl from his school. That's the lowest school shooting age. The gun was from his uncles house.

Why could he get a gun so easily? The uncle is responsible that other people, and especially children can't get to the gun. I also can't believe why the boy did it. It's very choking.

Charlston Heston: “From my cold dead hands!”

I my eyes I see Charlston as someone who want's to have guns, and I can't believe that in the film,he doesn't even look at the picture of the 6 year old girl who got killed.

I think that the sentence he says means, that if someone wanted to take his or just the guns, it means the same like “Over my dead body.”

In Canada there is 7 million guns in 10 million homes – they just don't use them.

I think it's good, that they don't use them, because they don't have a reason to. The number of deaths in Canada is very low, that many people don't lock their doors. It shows that they aren't afraid, and don't go around filled up with fear.

With that conclusion it makes me think about, why do they have so many guns?

School Shooting

A school shooting is where one or some pupils starts shooting at there school with a gun they maybe have stolen.
The reasons why they do it could be if they have a problem with the teachers or some of the pupils, they maybe have a hard time in their lifes, problems with their family or maybe they have a mental illness, and can't control what they do.
When there have been a school shooting, there is often someone who have been killed. Most of the school shootings happen in the USA, and I think it's because it's very easy to get a gun in the country and that there aren't so many laws about having a gun.
I find school shooting as a very bad and dangerous thing, because you can get hurt and maybe die for no reason. I also think that the person(s) who have done it, shouldn't kill themselves afterwards but get help and find the reason why they did it.

Come on!

Today there is 372 days to the premiere of Breaking Dawn Part 1!!!  Thats over a year... Can't wait :-)

Theme: Guns in America

This is a post about guns in America (A project we have in english-class).
The questions and answers belongs together with this video: Guns in America

1. The moderator Lisa's first question to the members of the debate is: Why do people own guns. Write down what Andrea, Maxwell and Jessica believe is the reason for this.
Andrea: A lot of people use them for hunting, sports or stuff like that, protection and of course for violence.
Maxwell: People with small penises own guns, and a lot of the men is insecure in the american society, and gets a gun to feel a lot more macho, harder, tougher and to get the chief feeling.
A lot of people also own guns, because they have fear. He thinks that Americans is a paranoide fatcat, and can get affraid from the little things, like the man behind the corner.
Jessica: She thinks that women own guns, because they are scared, have fear and feel unpowered. A lot of women feel insecure and unpowered when they walk on the street at night. But having a gun isn't the right solution.

2. Jessica says that many Americans want to have a gun because the media and films. Do you agree with Jessica? Why? Why not?
I agree with Jessica, because I think the people can get the fear and paranoide feeling from films. Many people can also be so paranoide, and think that the things that happens in a movie, also happens for themselves.

3. Rhajik talks a lot about the military when he is talking about guns. What does he says about the military and their need and use of guns?
He says that the military protect people with guns, and that they have licence to kill to protect their people. If it was illegal to have guns, the military wouldn't be very effective, and everyone would be scared. It's a quick, easy and lazy way to kill with guns, because it's harder to kill with your hands.
He means that not owning a gun, makes people invisible and full of fear.

4. Maxwell names some facts about guns.Name a least one of them. Comment on the fact.
1,5– 2,3 mio. people in America have bought or sold a gun in a year.
I think that it's a hugh number! So many people shouldn't be able to have a gun, because it's so dangeress for other peoples and themselves.

5. Maxwell says the reason why criminals have guns is because the citizens are armed. Do you think that is right?How do you think it is in Denmark?
I don't think it's the only reason, but it could be one. I think that the criminals are who they are, because of their background, their family or from a bad experince they have hadden.
In my point of the view, many people do not own guns in Denmark. But the criminals in Denmark are who they are, maybe because of group pressure, or the same reasons I said about the americans.

6. What does Andrea thinks should be changed in America's gun law?
She thinks that there should be a waiting period for those people, who seems to be desperate to get a gun, a background.check, so you can see if people are criminal and have training in having a gun.

7. Rhajik says that power should be returned to the people, the individual. It should be totally legal to own guns. No one should rule. We should be responsible for our own lives. What do you think about this?
I don't think that everyone should be able to own a gun. First of all because it's dangeress, and second of all because people have nothing to use it for. We have to be responsible for our own lives, but we sure can do that without the guns! I think that the military and the police maybe can have guns, but in the end I think that guns should be illegal.
It's such a dangeress and brutal thing, which kills a lot of people!

8. In the end of the debate, all the debate members are asked to say in short what they think about guns. Choose at least two of the members and write down their opinion.
Andrea: She would't have any guns in the world, and the people should have an education about having and handling a gun. Also there should be a waiting period, where people really can decide, if they should have a gun. The numbers of guns which is sold every day, should totally be cut down.
Jessica: People should have the freedom to choose having a gun, and we can't just ignore the people, who have guns for no reason. The people have to educate about guns, and learn what the consequences is by having a gun.

9. Lisa ends the debate by giving the americans an advice about guns. What does she says?
She says, that if you're thinking about useing a gun, just think before you get your passion get away with you. Guns can be an excuse for bad stuff, but in the end you're the bad guy.

10. Who do you agree with the most of the five members of the debate and why?
I agree with Jessica, because I think she has the right attitude about the guns, and knows how dangeress the thing is. I also agree that the people should have an education about having and handling a gun before you get one, and that there should be a background-check of people, so you can see if the person has been or is criminal.

2nd post about the Saga

Hello again. Now i have written the 2nd post about the 3 movies. Hope it isn't to long :D -Enjoy!!

Twilight: In Twilight Bella moves to Forks, to live with her dad Charlie.

She sees the Cullen family for the first time, and she is very curious about them. There also happens some really strange things. Edward pushes her away from a wild-drivening car, he follows after her when she is shopping, and his skin is white and cold.
It tearns out that Edward and his family is vampires, but Bella and Edward falls in love anyway.
Meanwhile there is some bad vampires, who comes into the Cullens teritorium. One of them -James, wants to kill Bella and goes after her.
James bites Bella, but then the Cullens kill him, and Bella doesn't turns to a vampire. Now, James' made and girlfriend is after her.
Bella wants to be a vampire, so she can live forever with Edward.

New moon: In New moon, Bella turns 18. She really wants to be a vampire. At her birthday-party, she cuts her finger on some paper and Jasper -one of the Cullens, attacks her.
Next day Edward says, that they have to move without Bella. Her heart gets crushed, and she fells so empty.
Luckily her friend Jacob helps her threw this hard time. Suddenly Jacob gets really wird, and doesn't want to hang out with Bella. It's all because he turns to a werewolf -which also a lot of his friends are.
When Bella jumps out from a cliff, Alice comes home to her, and says that Edward wants to die.
Then they fly to Italy to rescue him, and of course it all ends very well.
In the end Edward asks Bella to marry him and then...

(Actually, that isn't in the book, only in the movie xD)

Eclipse: In Eclipse Edward really wants to marry Bella, but Bella wants to be a vampire -which Edward doesn't want her to be.
Meanwhile Victoria is planning, to get to Bella and kill her, so Edward can fell that pain, she felt, when she lost James. She creates an army of newborn vampires, so they can kill the Cullen family, if they protects Bella.
At home in Forks, there also happens some stoff. Jacob says to Bella, that he is in love with her, some vampire -who isn't one that the Cullens know, sneeks into Bellas room and takes one of her sweaters.
Alice gets a vision, that the army will attack the family, and then they start training, so they can beat them in a fight.
One evening Edward and Bella is home alone in his house, and then Edward proposes to her -in a real way. Of Course she says yes, and they makes a deal, that after they have gotten married, he changes her to a vampire.
On the big fightday Bella gets protected by Edward and one of the werewolfs.
Edward kills Victoria and her new made Riley.

English theme: The Twilight Saga

Well, I better get started.

In my english-class we have to write about something. I have choosen to write about "The Twilight Saga".

There are 4 books in the series: Twilight, New moon, Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. The three of them have allready been filmed, and the fourth -Breaking Dawn- comes out in theaters in 2 parts: November 18th 2011 and november 16th 2012.

Main-caracters
There is three main-caracters: Bella Swan, Edward Cullen and jacob Black.
Bella is a shy, cautious and a little bit clumsy person. She moves to the town Forks to live with her dad.
Her mother and husband have to focus on his career, so they have to go on the road.
In shool she meets the mysterious and different guy -Edward Cullen, who turns out to be a vampire.
Meanwhile she has this friend -Jacob Black, she has known since she was a little girl. Later he becomes a werewolf and a big help for Bella.

That was the important facts. In the next post I tell about what happens in the 3 movies.
(I could write about Breaking Dawn, but I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't read it yet(: )

It's now wednesday and I'm sitting in school and blogging xD I actually come from Denmark, but because me and my class has this blog in the english-class, i have to write in english.
